San Clemente

This little fishing village is located just in the middle between Bahia de Caraquez and Manta on the beautiful Pacific coast of Ecuador.  A short 45 minute drive from the Airport in Manta brings you home. Unlike other places at Ecuador's cost, San Clemente is not overrun by tourists and filled up with lots of bars. A unique blend of local charm and the influence of the "gringo" community makes this village a gem of a location. Many say, the beaches are the most beautiful in Ecuador, but you have to come and see for yourself. A laid back atmosphere, friendly local people and a nice Expat community with US-Americans, Canadians and Germans makes this a very desirable location.

This Villa is located inside a small compound of 8 similar, private homes. The beach is just 300 meter away. A car can be securely parked inside the gate in front of the house. This is a very safe and quiet neighborhood without traffic or loud restaurants or bars in "hearing" range. For shopping the towns of Bahia or Portoviejo offering Malls (Bahia's Mall is opening later this year) and US comparable Grocery shopping (SuperMaxi). Fish and Seafood is best bought fresh right here in San Clemente (Famous for their shrimps) Imagine: 2 superbig shrimps = 1 Pound = $5.00 You can make a shrimp pasta for 2 with this! In the neighboring town of Charapato a Farmer's market is offering abundance of fresh, local fruits and vegetables, meats, chicken, seafood. You do not want to own a car? No problemo: The local bus station is just a 2 minute walk away and  some coins get you anywhere by the frequently running buses.
